New DFG project starting on energy induced nanoparticle substrate interactions
Dr. Claudia Pacholski, Heisenberg fellow and innoFSPEC research group leader for Optical Materials, is starting a new DFG-project called 'Energy induced nanoparticle substrate interactions'. Project partner is Prof. Carsten Ronning (Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Institute for Solid State Physics).
In this DFG project, the aim is to identify the general impact of chemical and physical energy on the interaction between metallic nanoparticles and Si-based substrate materials in order to gain a deep understanding of the underlying processes. Thereby, the development of new materials with exceptional properties and functionalities will be promoted which could be utilized as catalyzer or sensors - for example.
